Communications Officer BEUC

BEUC, the Brussels-based European Consumers’ Organisation is looking for a creative, hands-on staff member for the Communications Department to support BEUC to communicate effectively with its different target groups.
Your tasks:
- Develop communication tools (including visual communication tools) to help conveying our policy message to the relevant target groups
- Manage the website by writing content and integrating new tools as they develop
- Manage production of publications and other communication material by coordinating the work of external suppliers
- Write and edit factsheets, newsletters and other communication material
Your profile:
- You should have a solid communications background (at least 3 years professional experience)
- You have experience in using the whole range of communication tools and applying them in target-specific situations
- Your are creative and like to brainstorm with colleagues to develop new ideas
- You are interested in the newest social media developments and you have proven experience in integrating them in a communications strategy
- Excellent knowledge of developing marketing communication materials, writing online content and developing social media campaigns/projects
- French at mother-tongue level and excellent English language skills
- First class written, verbal and graphic/visual communications skills. You have shown experience in translating policy texts into non-expert language
- You are experienced in dealing with managing external suppliers
- Good knowledge of EU level and/or national media relations
- Good knowledge of the EU institutions and political decision-making process is an additional asset
- A proven interest in understanding, appreciating and articulating the consumer interest
- At least bachelor degree
