The Financial Mechanism Office («EØS finansieringsordninger») is recruiting a Head of Legal.

The Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) is the secretariat of the EEA and Norway Grants and reports to the Foreign Ministries of Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. We are currently recruiting a Head of Legal to supervise all the legal work of the grants schemes in the 2009-2014 funding period.

As Head of Legal, you will supervise a team of four legal officers. This is an exciting and challenging role which will involve handling all the legal aspects around the preparation and revision of programme agreements with the beneficiary states and the implementation of programmes.

Specific tasks will include advising on the preparation and follow-up of programmes, reviewing programme proposals to ensure that these are in line with the established legal framework, and preparing programme agreements. Furthermore, advising on and revising the regulatory framework of the grant schemes and ensuring contracting of services procured by the FMO.

In addition to a University degree in law, you must have a minimum of 10-15 years of relevant work experience and knowledge of legal aspects of programme management, excellent analytical skills and strong interpersonal abilities.
