Humanitarian Human Resources Adviser

CAFOD, one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies, is currently looking for an International HR Adviser to join our dynamic HR team in central London. The post sits in the International HR team and works closely with CAFOD’s Humanitarian Department in London and the Humanitarian Programme in Darfur (the NCA Darfur Programme).

You will coordinate the recruitment of international staff for humanitarian posts based overseas and support international managers both in the UK and overseas in leading and managing their teams as well as supporting staff to be effective in their work. You will be responsible for providing professional advice through HR partnership to develop, refine and implement organisational structures and appropriate processes.

We are looking for someone who has a sound understanding of recruitment processes with hands-on knowledge of HR in an international context using a business partnership approach. You should be able to act quickly and decisively to deal with emerging problems, know when to make decisions, when to defer to others and when to consult. You should demonstrate outstanding skills in supporting the professional development of others and help them to achieve results in sometimes difficult and stressful environments. An understanding of relief and development issues would be advantageous.
