NRC’s strategic focus is to ensure professionalism and accountability within all the activities of the organisation. An important element is to constantly monitor and evaluate the results in NRC’s programme activities, and integrate this into processes for organisational learning.

As part of strengthening NRC’s organisational competency and capacity for results monitoring and evaluation, NRC is seeking a Senior Monitoring & Evaluation Adviser. The position will be based at NRC’s Head Office in Oslo and will report to the Head of Section for Strategic Management Support.


Job description

• The Adviser shall contribute to strengthening NRC’s competency and capacity for results monitoring and evaluation, and organisational learning. This includes the following:

• Contribute to the development of methodologies and tools for effective results monitoring in NRC’s programme activities

• Facilitate training and capacity building in results monitoring methodology and practice for NRC’s staff

• Planning, coordination and follow-up of NRC’s system for external programme evaluations, including contact and follow-up with external evaluators

• Contribute to the development of effective processes and systems for organisational learning in NRC

• Support NRC’s International Programme Department in ensuring high quality and consistency in outcome monitoring and evaluation across country programmes


Qualifications

• Relevant academic background (BA or Master level) and relevant working experience within the field of results monitoring and evaluation

• Proven solid experience from results monitoring and programme evaluations, preferably from similar organisations

• Proven experience from development and use of qualitative survey methodologies and tools, preferably within the humanitarian sector

• Field or consultancy experience from the humanitarian sector will be an advantage

• Good interpersonal, facilitator and communication skills

• Strong analytical skills

• Training skills and experience

• Fluency in English

• Knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic will be an advantage
