Regional Education Advisor - LACRO
This is an HCI Local Role that will be based in the country of the successful candidate within the LACRO Region (Latin America and the Caribbean). Only candidates from the LACRO Region will be considered.
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Provide technical advice, coordination and monitoring to enhance the quality of education Programmes in LACR aligned with the regional and global education strategies, ensuring the development and well being of children.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, promote and update education policies, strategies, standards, tools and multi-year plans. Ensure alignment with the national policy context as well as internationally proven best education programming practices. Advise, coordinate and monitor regional initiatives on the education sector. Ensure alignment with the regional and global strategies and priorities Facilitate the development of a common LAC regional agenda for advocacy and development in education and learning and monitor its implementation. Promote the cause of education and learning in the LAC international agenda for the human and social development of childhood and youth Develop and formalize strategic relationships with regional and global partners (Governmental, Academic Networks and Institutions, Church Networks and Institutions) to place regionally the children agenda to education and learning. Formalized alliances with regional and global institutions Provide advice on the monitoring, evaluation, research, and documentation of education and learning development and advocacy programs, participating in resource mobilization to support new and ongoing Primary School Education initiatives in the LAC region. Work closely with National Offices providing critical guidance and input in the implementation of strategy in the education sector. Ensure the proper actions are being followed and guarantee the alignment with strategy. Contribute to development of education sector programme models. Support the National Offices in developing effective education strategies and plans appropriate to their context in alignment with the regional and global strategies and priorities. Ensuring the sector programme models are fully integrated with the development, advocacy and HEA that enable the well being of children.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
REQUIRED: Degree in Education, Social Sciences or any related field. Knowledge on child development, protection issues and development programming Coaching, Mentoring, Training and Facilitation skills Knowledge of other various technical sectors of development and how these sectors can be effectively integrated to education sector Five years experience in education policy development, social mobilization and public influencing in education
PREFERRED: Master degree in Education with emphasis in education policy intercultural learning or related areas.
