Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following positions at the Mponeng Mine:

Instrumentation Technician

Applicants will need:

• T3/S4 or registration as a Professional Technician with ECSA
• At least 5 years’ experience in Control and Instrumentation in the Mining environment
• A valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket)
• Knowledge of and experience in PLC programming and faultfinding, preferably Siemens
• Good knowledge of PID Controllers and Loop Tuning
• Sound knowledge of communication standards, protocols and topologies
• Experience with SCADA systems (WinCC, Citect)
• Local area networking and PC experience
• Experience on Advanced Process Control Systems
• Telecommunication and Environmental Monitoring System experience and knowledge of mining processes (refrigeration, compressed air and water reticulation) would be advantageous.

ROCK ENGINEERING QUALITY CONTROL OFFICER

Applicants will need:

• Grade 12 with Mathematics and Science
• Computer literacy in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• A Blasting Certificate
• 2 years’ general underground mining experience (Mining/Geology, etc)
• A valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket). A qualification in any related field (Science, Engineering, Geology, Survey and Mining), a Strata Control Training Course and experience with Micro Station would be advantageous.

Systems /Instrument Technician

Applicants will need:

• T3/S4, or registration as Professional Technician with ECSA
• At least 4 years’ experience as a C&I Technician in the Metallurgical Plants environment
• Knowledge of and experience in PLC programming and faultfinding, especially Siemens
• Sound knowledge of communication standards, protocols and topologies
• Experience with SCADA systems (Citect)
• Local area networking and PC experience (essential)
• Experience on Advanced Process Control Systems
• Knowledge of metallurgical processes will be an advantage
• Good knowledge of PID controllers and loop tuning
• Valid Certificate of Fitness (Red Ticket) or able to obtain one.

The successful candidate will be required to:

• Set up new and maintain current Siemens PLC and Citect SCADA systems in the Plant
• Assume responsibility for instrumentation networks and POE camera network for process control
• Assume responsibility for the Safety, Health and Loss Control for his/her area of responsibility
• Apply guidelines, standard specifications and procedures for control systems

Medical Officers
•Westvaal Hospital, Orkney

Applicants will need:

• To be registered for independent medical practice as a Medical Officer with the HPCSA
• The ability to work in a team and company environment
• The ability to work in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
• To prescribe to a philosophy of evidence-based medicine and managed care
• Good verbal and written communication skills and good interpersonal skills
• The ability to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
• A valid driver’s licence. Additional diplomas (Medicine) ATLS, ACLS and DOH would be advantageous.

Radiographer
• Westvaal Hospital, Orkney

Applicants will need:

• A 3-year degree/diploma in Radiography and registration with the HPCSA
• Excellent communication, technical and computer skills.
  
  

Reporting to the Unit Manager: Radiology, the incumbent will be responsible for pre-clinical procedures, clinical procedures, post-clinical procedures, stock control and housekeeping

Shift Overseer

Applicants will need:

• Grade 12
• A valid permanent Blasting Certificate
• Proficiency in English
• A minimum of 4 years’ deep-level mining experience
• The ability to obtain a Certificate of Fitness
• A valid First Aid Certificate
• To be familiar with mining standards
• Basic supervisory/management training

Stopers/Developers/General Miners

Applicants will need:

• A valid permanent Blasting Certificate
• Proficiency in English
• A minimum of 2 years’ deep-level mining experience
• The ability to obtain a certificate of fitness
• A valid First Aid Certificate
• To be familiar with mining standards.
