Registry Officer/Librarian EFTA Surveillance Authority

Role description:

The successful applicant will operate the registry, archives and library for the Authority. The officer holds a keyposition in the organisation as responsible for the daily running of the Registry, handling registration and (mostly electronic) distribution of all incoming and outgoing official correspondence. The available position forms part of the Authority’s Infor - mation Manage ment team. Tasks also include training of staff in the use of the Autho rity’s information management sys tem (inter alia document handling system) and user support. The position reports to the Director of Admini stration, except in regards the Library, which is run by the Legal and Executive Affairs Department.

Essential:

  • University degree within the field of library, archive or information sciences, or equivalent education;
  • Working experience within the field of information and document management;
  • Knowledge of information and document management software;
  • Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office package;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English;
  • Knowledge of at least one of the EFTA languages (Norwegian, Icelandic, German);
  • Good organisational and communication skills;
  • Flexibility and ability to work both independently and in a team.

Ideal skills:

  • Knowledge of Hummingbird (Document Management System);
  • Knowledge of languages of host country (French or Dutch);
  • Experience with training within the field of information management.

Conditions :

The position is placed at grade A2 of the salary scale, starting at € 56.904,48 per year. Appointments are normally made at Step 1 of a grade. A higher step can be considered on the basis of the candidate's qualifications and experience. Depen - ding on, inter alia, the candidate’s family status, allowances and benefits may apply. Favorable tax conditions apply. The applicants must be entitled to full citizen rights and be of good repute. Appointment is conditional upon security clearance, as the successful applicant may at times handle sensitive documents.
While its staff members shall normally be nationals of one of the three EFTA States party to the EEA Agreement, the Authority will also consider other applications, primarily those of nationals of the other States that are party to the EEA Agreement.

The position will be vacant as of late winter/early spring 2012.
