Institutional Funding Manager

The department Special Projects and External Funding is looking for an

Institutional Funding Manager 36 hours per week for the duration of one year (start from February 2012) will be based in The Hague

Main Tasks •To provide support to the regional bureaus and country offices as to how to adhere to donor requirements in regard to contract management. This will include supporting applications for funds, advising on contracting and providing support for the preparation of financial and narrative reports. This task will form a substantial part of the job description; •To build up and maintain a network of contacts with the donor agencies and to actively identify fundraising opportunities with these institutional donors for Oxfam Novib’s programme; •To keep a database of information and knowledge on the donor agencies and their budget lines available to NGOs; •To coordinate where necessary with other Oxfam affiliates, likewise with other NGOs and participate in meetings when required; •To advise the regional bureaus and country offices on funding strategies as part of their business plan; •To provide input for internal and administrative procedures and grant management institutional donors in the SAP management information system of Oxfam Novib.

Requirements •university level education and at least 5 years of work experience in the field of development cooperation preferably with an international agency; •good knowledge of and experience in identifying fundraising opportunities for NGOs from institutional donors, preparing applications for institutional donor agencies; •experience in raising funds from the European Commission as well as experience with EC rules and regulations is a prerequisite for this function; •broad and extensive knowledge of project and programme management (humanitarian and/or development) preferably gained through experience in the field or through regular missions, as well as experience and knowledge of PCM, including monitoring, technical and financial reporting, while having a thematic specialization is an asset; •good knowledge of the NGO sector; a network with donor agencies is an asset, while also knowledge of the Oxfam confederation will be considered an asset. •good communication and coaching skills; •willingness to travel abroad regularly; •fluent in both English and French, knowledge of Portuguese is an advantage.

We offer The gross salary will be between € 2.581 and € 3.971 gross per month on the basis of a 36 hour workweek.
