Overview and Mission

The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) is an alliance of over 200 national diabetes associations with two million members in more than 160 countries and territories. For over 50 years, IDF has been at the vanguard of global diabetes advocacy. The Federation is committed to raising global awareness of diabetes, promoting the exchange of information about the different types of diabetes, give education support for people with diabetes and their healthcare providers, and encouraging activities towards finding a cure for the different types of diabetes.
The International Diabetes Federation has five vacancies for internship within the External Relations department and Policy & Programme department in Brussels for a 6 month period starting in January or February.

  • Public Health Policy Intern;
  • Education Intern;
  • External Relations Intern;
  • Communications Intern;
  • Advocacy Intern.

Minimum requirements

  • EU nationality and the right to live and work in Belgium without requiring a work permit;
  • Applicants must be undergraduate students who require an internship for their course;
  • Exceptional verbal and written skills in English;
  • Fluency in other languages is an asset;
  • Excellent organizational and team working skills;
  • Proactive, flexible, good communicator;
  • Fast word-processing skills and good command of Microsoft Office;
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural setting;
  • Computer literacy in standard office applications.
