Overview
Would you like to work at the cutting edge of European law, helping judges, lawyers and other legal professionals to put the latest developments into practice?
The Academy of European Law is the leading partner of the European institutions, national administrations and professional associations in continuing professional training in European law. We are looking for a new member of our team from 1 January 2012 or later.

Position
Project Lawyer in European Private Law with an excellent knowledge of EU law and a special interest in European civil law and procedure.
Your job will be to:

  • Prepare and run training courses, organise high-level conferences and develop e-learning modules targeted at practitioners of European law (such as judges, prosecutors, lawyers in private practice, in-house counsel).

Qualifications

  • You have an excellent knowledge of European law and in particular of European private law;
  • You have strong networking and communication skills and are fluent in at least two of ERA’s three working languages (English, French and German);
  • Professional experience or legal practice would be an advantage;
  • Native English speakers are particularly encouraged to apply.

Our Offer

The post is financed under a Commission grant and at this stage fixed for one year (fixed term contract), possibly renewable. The normal place of work is the city of Trier in Germany, just over the border from the EU‘s judicial capital in Luxembourg, and regular travel is part of the job.
