Peru GRANTS & CONTRACTS SPECIALIST

The International Potato Center (CIP) is seeking a Grants & Contracts Specialist with excellent administrative and organizational skills to support the Unit in servicing mainly the CGIAR Research Program 3.4: Root, tubers and bananas for food security and income interacting with CIP matrix units, regional offices and program partners as required and implementing CIP’s organizational mission through efficient and effective management of program prime and subrecipient agreements.

The program is led by the International Potato Center (CIP) with Bioversity International, the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) and International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and includes a wide spectrum of research for-development stakeholders. This new collaboration, with its combined scale and capacity, will increase the ability to advance research, share knowledge, and enhance uptake to increase research and development impacts.

The Center: CIP is a not-for-profit international agricultural research-for-development organization with a focus on potato, sweetpotato, and Andean roots and tubers. The position: The G&C Specialist position will be located in Lima, Peru and will report directly to Grants & Contract Head.

Duties and Accountabilities:

•Support in the G&C unit in the creation of agreement templates (with the CGIAR Consortium Office as well as CRP 3.4 partners and subrecipients) •Support finance and the Program Director (PD) in performing due diligence activities and the award of partner and subrecipient agreements •Support PD in assessing Intellectual Property issues related to program participants and subrecipients and managing background and foreground IP rights •Support in the management of award documents as required for CRP 3.4, including the process of submission of the midterm plan, annual work plans and budgets •Maintenance of CRP databases (including initial file set up and subsequent updates) •Responsible for the management CRP report submission alert system and ensuring timely deliverable to the Consortium Office. This activity includes interacting with the P.D, program participants, subrecipients, Proposal Manager/Technical Editor and Consortium Office •Responsible for set up of monitoring compliance system to meet CRP publication and acknowledgement requirements in coordination with CPAD •Support in the review and issuance of annual modifications and any necessary or applicable extensions •Support, as needed, in program participant and subprogram participants award close out activities •Perform other related duties as required.

Selection Criteria:

•Minimum of 5 years grant and contract management experience in an international organization. Experience in research organizations or consulting firms are highly desirable. •Know-how in IP (intellectual property) management related issues. •Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects at once; superior organizational skills; attentive to details. •Know-how in grant and contract database design and management. •Proactive, innovative and creative attitudes, particularly in quickly establishing a rapport with the Program Management Unit and CIP matrix units. •Knowledge of PCs and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). •Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish, including proofreading skills. •Preferably educated to degree level. •Willingness to travel occasionally.
