Qualifications: -Minimum of 2 years experience working in corporate strategy, corporate development or financial analyst roles, ideally in digital media, investment banking or management consulting. -Strong analytical skills to assess data, draw conclusions and make recommendations (proficiency in excel preferred, experience in Omniture is a plus) -Good understanding of competitive and technological challenges facing the media industry. -Good client and people skills-ability to work across multiple internal groups to help sell-in new concepts/ideas. -Fluent in creating PowerPoint presentations and Excel-based financial models. -Strong written, oral communication, presentation organizational skills and project management skills. -Pursuing and MBA from a top-tier program.Duties: The Product Strategy & Partnerships department of CNN Digital is seeking 3 summer interns to provide strategic planning, business operations and audience development analysis for digital media projects. We work closely with CNN Digital's senior management team to provide business analysis and insights that inform their decision-making in various capacities. Projects typically touch numerous functional teams, offering exposure into the different dynamics and operations within the organization. The Digital Strategy intern will participate as an integral member of the Product Strategy team and have the following areas of responsibility: -Collect, analyze and synthesize information to develop strategies and business cases for online media products and businesses. -Conduct in-depth analyses of market, sales, financial and operating data from primary and secondary resources. -Build analytical models that aid in market analysis and decision-making. -Think "big-picture" across countries and industries to identify emerging trends in the digital space that can be used to drive growth. -Create cross-functional teams to harness the expertise of product development, ad sales, technology, editorial, marketing and production to assess needs, educate about business realities and drive initiatives forward. -Create and deliver presentations that clearly define strategic opportunities. -Identify and assess the value of external partners that can be enlisted to help deliver the business strategy and/or launch new products. The Business Operations intern will participate as an integral member of the Business Operations team and have the following areas of responsibility: -Measure and analyze existing products for opportunities to innovate, improve and grow section traffic and monetization while providing additional benefits to CNN.com users -Identify, monitor and analyze internal (e.g. traffic, monetization, cost, sales) and external (e.g., technology, market share, competitive) performance parameters in order to reposition, modify features and identify new uses for the sections -Ideation, development decisions, business case input, testing and analysis, go-to-market plans and on-going local support for product marketing -Work with Strategy & Audience Development team in forming and managing editorial and business development relationships -Collaborate on the development of presentations to key stakeholders including customers, external partners, as well as internal CNN.com resources, highlighting overall business strategy and direction of news/feature section The Audience Development intern will participate as an integral member of the Audience Development team and have the following areas of responsibility: -Create strategies and tactics to drive more traffic to CNN products and increase engagement, working closely with divisional colleagues in Editorial, Product Development, Technology, Research, Design/DXG, and Mobile to ensure that we leverage every opportunity for growth -Identify external partnerships / business development deals, including content sharing / traffic exchange deals to maximize external traffic driving efforts -Work with product development to lead social media strategy and continually advance and deploy best practices in Social Media in order to grow inbound, side door traffic to the sites -Perform analysis to drive insight and inform audience development approach.
