Currently we are inviting applications for the position of Manager, Procurement and Logistics.
DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Director of Risk Management and Shared Services, the manager is responsible for providing direction and insights for both the procurement and logistics functions.
• Provide oversight to a team which is responsible for all purchasing activities for the organization resulting in overall cost savings. • Working closely with the Manager for Strategic Sourcing and Contracts in finding the best possible products and services for the organization. • Responsible for evaluating current procurement functions and activities to ensure the procurement team is providing the best possible service to the organization. • Engage with the various business units throughout the organization to ensure the needs of World Vision Canada are being met. • Also be responsible for direction, oversight and coaching of the warehouse team. Automation of many of the inventory and logistics functions will be a priority as the organization streamlines its operations to provide more effective service.
Key Job Functions:
The key role of the manager is to ensure the procurement of goods and services is performed in the most efficient and effective means possible, and also provides World Vision Canada with the best available goods and service, at the best possible price.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
The successful candidate will be an individual who:
• Works well with people in a cross functional relationship; • Able to adapt quickly to changing circumstances; • Is an effective communicator both written and verbal; and • Has specific knowledge and skills in purchasing, warehousing and inventory management, and logistics.
Minimum Requirements:
A post secondary education; a procurement designation and or equivalent experience; and experience with warehousing and logistics. Management experience is also essential to the position.
