Qualifications: Minimum Work Experience: -At least 6 years combined technical and functional business experience, with a minimum of 3 years data experience working in ad networks, web analytics, CRM or related data-centric activity. Must have a track record of using data to drive audience monetization. - At least 2 years in a role requiring excellent client communication and negotiation skills, such as in an Advertizing or Media company or equivalent. - Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams with the ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization. - Ability to prepare resource and time estimates with high degree of reliability - Experience planning and managing on a large scale -Ability to successfully navigate a large matrixed organization. -Proficient skills using the MS Office suite. Desirable Requirements: -Experience with relational databases, queries, Oracle SQL Plus, Netezza or similar technologies. - Experience in web analytics (Omniture preferred), digital advertising and/or data-driven media. - Experience using third-party data overlays to determine audience insights such as demographics. - Experience in media, news, and/or entertainment industry preferred - Exposure to customer lifetime value models used for online marketing - Demonstrated proactive customer service skills - Advanced communications skills (written/verbal), with emphasis on demonstrated ability to translate complex concepts between business and technical groups. Meeting facilitation and presentation skills. - Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and set or negotiate priorities - Advanced problem solving and analytical skills. Duties: Position Description Like Big Data? The Data Analyst Manager Data Strategy is a lead client-facing role in our Data Strategy and Audience Insights team. Primarily a solutions consultant, this role acts as the main client resource for monetization analytics based in our New York or Atlanta office. The role has a heavy reliance on understanding the audience monetization needs of our internal stakeholders, working with our product/development team to produce solutions, and delivering that solution together with as-needed analysis. The role will require managing analysts while collaborating with internal teams such as Media Research, Ad Sales, and Inventory Management. Occasionally this role will also be asked to develop product requirements for our emerging line of data products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leveraging complex Excel spreadsheets. Experience in SQL and SAS is preferable. Experience in web analytics, digital advertising and/or media a plus. The analyst will have a background in leveraging large data sets to provide innovative insights into advertising, audience segmentation, content consumption and similar issues. The candidate will also have demonstrated experience in managing more junior team members. The ideal candidate will also have an established track record of delighting clients in a multi-dimensional communication environment in a large corporate setting. Major Duties & Responsibilities - Lead analysts and act as the main client resource for monetization analytics based in our New York or Atlanta office. - Consult with internal clients such as Ad Sales, Turner Media Properties (CNN, Cartoon Network, NBA.com, etc) and Research to understand audience data monetization needs - Deliver solutions through simple analysis or packaged products such as standardized reports. - Provide quantitative analysis of audience data with a focus on monetization mechanisms. Establish baseline valuation of audience data, and perform what-if scenarios around that baseline. Work closely with Research and Business partners to validate monetization models and refine future audience data products. - Work with project teams, customers, other Business Analysts, and management to gather and document product requirements based on Audience Data. Sample products include standardized Omniture reporting, and audience insights required by internal stakeholders. - Manage and prioritize activities of the analytics team- Manage customer expectations and communicate with other groups as needed to insure successful solutions and implementations. Work with Business Analyst and/or other project managers to define and document communication plan and promote a positive working relationship with customers. Maintain open and constant communication among internal team, customers, and management regarding project status. - Support Sr. Director Data Strategy in the formation of long-term product roadmaps and data solutions for internal clients. - Assist team members and model team leadership skills. Work with team members, other business analysts, and project management to resolve team issues. - Assist project management with special assignments, such as evaluating vendors, gathering/evaluating consultant proposals, overseeing process improvement initiatives, or other responsibilities as requested. Provide input to personnel management decisions as appropriate.
