Deepwater Completions Engineer

Responsibilities:
  • Exhibiting team-working skills and promote a high degree of HSE awareness
  • Building knowledge and skill levels in HSE critical activities
  • Supporting the Wells group in the delivery of yearly HSE plans and GOAL ZERO commitments
  • Demonstrating Enterprise First behaviors and maintaining Core Values (honesty, integrity and respect for people) inherent in the Shell business principles
  • Supporting the completion team for a portfolio of projects in engineering design while competently applying aspects of TECOP (technical, economic, commercial, operability and political) covering the planning and execution phases of large subsea developments (>$100MM)
  • Evaluating the feasibility, risk costs and operability of completion options for concept selection phase
  • Interfacing with subsurface, surface and drilling teams to obtain integrated solutions
  • Ensuring that the completion design and operations are optimized to achieve all of the well objectives
  • Collaborating with subsurface, drilling, subsea and operations teams to ensure robust solutions and interfaces
  • Writing detailed completions programs for a safe and efficient operation while maintaining expenditures within the budget and schedule constraints


Requirements:
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer
  • Ability and flexibility to travel domestically and internationally up to 20%
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (i.e. Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical, Civil, etc.)
  • Must have at least three (3) years of experience in completion design and execution
  • Demonstrated experience in the budgeting, design & completion of producing/injector wells and the fundamental knowledge of offshore rig operations
  • Demonstrated experience in NODAL systems, tubing and casing stress load definition and evaluation, sand control assessment and methods, flow assurance constraints, floating rig and open water operations and subsea hardware and deployment
  • Demonstrated experience working on diverse, cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stakeholders demands and issues on a Global scale
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Strong acumen for technology development and innovation
  • Willingness to acquire additional competencies through structured learning and professional exams, all this while contributing to projects or assignments
  • Demonstrated experience working in the field, participating in the full life cycle and completions experience of Subsea Wells
  • Knowledge of well analysis tools (i.e. WellCat, Prosper or WEPHS/HORVIP)
