Informatics Assistant Grade: G6

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
To provide assistance in applying informatics technology to the development, operation and maintenance of Regional Office information systems and to support the application of office automation to the Regional Office and to WR/CLO Offices; support informatics requirements of technical and support programmes.
Description of duties:
1. Develop, test, perfect, monitor and maintain new and existing computer applications and services for operation
on the Organization's wide-area network.

2. Under the guidance of the assigned Systems Analyst, undertake systems analysis and design, prepare training
materials, and prepare standards for systems operation, plan in accordance with WPRO's information
technology standards.

3. Assist in the testing and evaluation of new hardware and software for use within the Region.

4. Provide user support and training to all units within the Regional Office and for WR/CLO Offices to improve
users's computer skills as required.

5. Advise on ways of improving systems and working methods.

6. Perform other related duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from secondary school. Advanced formal information technology training in programming, systems design and on the use of software packages including spreadsheets, word processing, database applications development and microcomputer operating systems.
Skills:
Knowledge in analysis, design, programming and operation of information systems in an on-line inter-active setting using a LAN environment; competence in planning and execution of work and in the presentation of facts and ideas; ability to communicate and obtain users' cooperation; ability to provide training on the operation of computers and associated peripherals, as well as software applications; good knowledge of telecommunication and networking technologies an advantage; ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team, adapt to diverse educational and .cultural backgrounds and maintaina high standard of personal conduct.
Experience:
Considerable experience in computer related activities and information technology applications for microcomputers in a LAN environment.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written.

Pesos 541 402 at single rate
