Informatics Assistant (Systems Developer) Grade: G6

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME :
To provide assistance in applying information and communications technology to the development, operation and maintenance of Regional Office information systems and to support the application of office automation in the Regional Office and Country Offices; support informatics requirements of technical and support programmes.
Description of duties:
Under the guidance and supervision of the Informatics Officer (NPO), incumbent will perform the following functions, in accordance with ITG's policies and guidelines:

1. Analyze, design, develop, test, monitor and maintain new and existing computer applications and services.

2. Prepare appropriate systems and technical documentation; prepare standards for application development and operations.

3. Provide user support, guidance and training to all units within the Regional Office and Country Offices to improve users' computer skills as required.

4. Assist in the testing and evaluation of new hardware and software for use within the Region.

5. Advise on ways of improving systems, workflows and methods.

6. Perform other related duties.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Graduation from secondary school with advanced formal training in information technology and its applications.
Skills:
Extensive knowledge of application analysis, design, development and operations. Competence in planning and execution of work and in the presentation of facts and ideas. Ability to communicate and obtain users' cooperation. Familiarity with emerging technologies and ability to learn and apply new technical skills. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to work harmoniously as a member of a team, adapt to diverse educational and cultural backgrounds and maintain high standards of personal conduct.
Experience:
At least six (6) years' experience, or equivalent in education and training, in analysis, design and development of various information systems.
Languages:
Excellent knowledge of English, both oral and written.

Annual salary: (Net of tax)
Pesos 541 402 at single rate
