Barrick (Granny Smith) Pty Ltd is located 950kms north east of Perth and 23kms south of Laverton and has been one of Australia’s leading gold producers for the last 15 years. With continued growth in our underground mining operations and an exciting exploration portfolio, the projected mine life is 8 years based on the current reserves.

Position Overview:

Granny Smith Gold Mine is seeking to recruit a Plant Metallurgist to assist with the recording and analysis of results, variables and trends of the treatment process. Reporting to the Senior Metallurgist, they will work closely to optimise plant performance and maximise gold recovery.

Key Duties;

· Daily metallurgical accounting

· Daily monitoring and reporting on production plant operating parameters

· Analyse data and monitor the process performance to optimise gold production

· Conduct test work and report results in an ordered manner

· Collaborate on plant improvement projects

Key Responsibilities:

To work both as a team member and individually in a safe and efficient manner
To follow standard operating procedures at all times
To be proactive and interactive in your approach to Health and safety
Ensure that safety and environment standards and company policies are upheld at all times and will not compromise the company's assets or human resources
Be actively involved in the development of continuous improvement processes

The successful candidate will possess;

A recognised tertiary qualifications in Metallurgy
2-5 years mining experience, preferably in the gold industry
A demonstrated commitment to safe working practise
Be a proactive individual with sound problem solving skills and knowledge of metallurgical testing procedures
Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Be able to demonstrate sound computer literacy, with an advanced knowledge of spreadsheets.
Membership of AusIMM desirable
Current “C” Class Western Australian Driving Licence
