Introduction:
The SharePoint Datacenter team is spearheading the work to transform SharePoint and Office from the most popular enterprise collaboration platform and productivity suite in the world, to an online service, SharePoint Online (SPO), that will give businesses the functionality, reliability, and experience that they need without the IT infrastructure and support costs that they don’t want. The SharePoint Datacenter team was an integral part of Office 365 launch in June 2011 and in the first 3 months following Office 365 launch, SharePoint Online has proven quite popular.

Team overview:
The SharePoint Datacenter team has end-to-end responsibility for designing, developing and operating the general service fabric/platform components as well as specific customer/data components that are needed to host and operate SharePoint Online. The team operates via an incredible set of devs, PMs, testers and OPS. The SharePoint Datacenter team is part of the Share Point Server team and also works very closely with other Office 365 teams (Identity and Directory, Exchange, etc.) as well as with GFS/GNS teams.

Job Details:
The team has an immediate opening for a Software Development Engineer (SDE II). We need a driven dev who can actively participate to envision, design and implement SharePoint Online platform enhancements that would improve the ability of the Office organization to deliver features on SharePoint Online. The responsibilities would include:
1. Designing, implementing and driving next generation feature enhancements in the SharePoint Online platform.
2. Working closely with dev, PM, test and OPS to design features and processes that enable the team to work with greater agility, release rapidly across different versions and geos, and deliver at a high quality.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the following skills and experience is required:
1. Drive and passion for excellence in a fast paced work environment in a rapidly evolving space.
2. Technical background and strong coding skills to design features for servers or for large scale online services.
3. 5+ years active development experience, including shipping multiple commercial products.
4. BA/BS or MS degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience.
