The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment (ACE), an industry association representing the leading beverage carton manufacturers and their paperboard suppliers, provides a European platform for beverage carton manufacturers and their paperboard suppliers to benchmark and profile beverage cartons as the renewable, recyclable and low carbon packaging solution. Engaging with stakeholders and partners seeking high environmental stewardship, ACE contributes expertise to EU policy, legislation and standard-setting. We are seeking a communications manager with energy and self-motivation to join our small, dynamic and progressive industry organisation.

The role:

Reporting to the Director General, the Communications Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of ACE’s external communications programme. This includes the execution of strategic outreach activities towards Brussels-based media, EU institutions and key stakeholders.

Key tasks include:

• Development and implementation of ACE’s external communications strategy;
• Drafting of press releases, newsletters, and other key publications;
• Development and coordination of communication toolkits, including fact sheets, website and audiovisual materials;
• Website management;
• Organisation and coordination of Brussels stakeholder events and study visits abroad.

Your profile:

Candidates should have:

• At least 7 years’ experience in a similar role;
• University Degree in Communications, EU Politics or related fields;
• Proven ability to draft a wide range of communication materials on complex issues;
• Excellent written and oral communications skills, and outstanding English;
• Strong project management skills;
• Sound understanding and interest in EU environmental policies;
• Previous experience of working on environmental topics;
• Excellent presentation and networking skills;
• A high level of self-motivation;
• Experience from the paper, forest or food sector is an asset.
