Requirements:

Candidates must have a PhD in earth sciences (candidates whose PhD’s are under examination will be considered) and a relevant track record in independent research that has resulted in good quality peer reviewed publications in international journals that is appropriate to the level of the post.

Lecturing obligations will include teaching optical mineralogy at second year level and metamorphic petrology at undergraduate and post graduate levels. Supervision of field schools will also be part of the teaching portfolio. The incumbent is expected to develop a successful research profile, attract research funding and postgraduate students, and take responsibility for administrative duties in the Department as required. Collegiality and team spirit is an important requirement for appointees.
