Editor (External Relations Officer)

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is in search of an experienced editor for its External Relations Department (EXR).
As the IMF's publisher, the Editorial and Publications Division (EXREP) manages the presentation of the Fund's research and analysis and communicates its messages through high-quality print and electronic products. Balancing impact and cost-efficiency, EXREP provides expert advice on all publishing matters and works with partners to disseminate the IMF's intellectual capital to its target audiences.

  • Manage the production process-from draft manuscript through to finished product-of selected IMF publications (e.g., books, Occasional Papers, seminar volumes), as assigned.
  • Develop approval and production schedules.
  • Handle all aspects of the editorial process, carrying out the appropriate level of editing required for each publication.
  • Coordinate and/or manage the work of others as required to produce the publication, such as designers, typesetters, proofreaders, and indexers.
  • Draft ad copy, blurbs, and other content as needed, handling the appropriate review/approval process.
  • Coordinate the printing and initial distribution of the publication (including non-English versions, if applicable), including review of bluelines, check and approval of final printed copies, and formal release for launch events.
  • Participate in the work of other EXR divisions through cross-departmental teams, as required.
