Interim Assistant Legal Department


Minimum 16, maximum 24 hours per week, initially for six months, Amsterdam based.

Venturing at the frontiers of finance, financial institutions in developing countries and emerging markets are contributing to economic development and poverty alleviation through banking with the poor. Establishing sustainable financial systems for the bottom of the pyramid has been recognised as one of the most successful development strategies. These systems simultaneously contribute to financial sector development, enterprise formation and poverty reduction.

Triple Jump is a fund management company specialised in microfinance. We aim to support the expansion of financial institutions in developing countries by providing capital and advisory services. Among the funds Triple Jump currently manages are the ASN-Novib Fund, the Oxfam Novib Fund, the SNS Institutional Microfinance Fund and Calvert Social Investment Foundation.

1.Expectations

As Interim Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Gather and keep a track record of original legal documents received;
  • Prepare and submit original legal documents to the respective Funds;
  • Retrieval of documents stored in hard copy, scan and upload to electronic database and vice-versa;
  • Add new material to hard copy and electronic file records, and create new records as necessary, using standard guidelines for naming of electronic records;
  • Eliminate outdated or unnecessary materials, destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to file maintenance guidelines and/or legal requirements;
  • Help modify and improve filing systems, or implement new filing systems. Perform periodic inspections of materials or files in order to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition;
  • Sort, and classify incoming documents and existing records according to guidelines;
  • Assist the legal department with compliance screening and other tasks regarding the contracting process with microfinance institutions;
  • Perform general office duties such as typing, copying and scanning.

2.Job requirements

You are a law or economics student interested in acquiring office work experience, with experience in filing and maintenance of physical and/or electronic databases, or you simply like order and structure and you are good at it, you have an excellent command of English and Spanish, in particular of legal and accounting terminology.
