The Department of Sport and Leisure Studies welcomes applications from candidates interested in joining a vibrant team, to undertake teaching and research in Health and Physical Education (HPE).

A PhD relating to the subject area (or near completion of for the Lecturer position) is essential as well as a broad and in depth knowledge of HPE curriculum and pedagogy and specialist interest in Health Education. Applicants should have a successful record of actively researching in the subject area with a record of publishing in referred journals and participating in professionally related conferences, and a demonstrated ability to attract external research grants and forge links with the broader community. Applicants must have New Zealand Teacher Registration or the ability to gain registration.

Current salary range for Lecturers is NZ$65,886 to NZ$80,441 per year and for Senior Lecturers is NZ$82,468 to NZ$110,614 per year. The level of appointment will be dependent on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant.
