Adaptation Mainstreaming Consultant Caribbean Development Bank

The Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) has a rewarding opportunity for an experienced professional to perform the role of Adaptation Mainstreaming Consultant (AMC). The Consultant will provide technical support to the mainstreaming of climate resiliency in the work programme of the Bank’s Operations Area (Projects and Economics Departments). Further, the Consultant will work with the various departments to ensure that climate change is incorporated within the programme/project to be implemented in the Borrowing Member Countries (BMCs) as well as provide technical support to the Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre in the implementation of its adaptation mainstreaming work with CDB’s BMCs.
CDB is a multi-lateral development finance institution that works in collaboration with its BMCs to promote sustainable, social and economic development within these countries and economic cooperation and integration among them.
The Role
The AMC will report to the Director, Projects Department, and will be responsible for leading and coordinating CDB’s work to ensure that all programmes and projects are climate-proofed. The AMC will also assist with the development of a pipeline of lending and Technical Assistance projects as well as other services related to climate change adaptation.
The Candidate
Eligible candidates should have a Master’s degree in Climate Policy, Energy, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental/Resource Economics or other related field.
Candidates should have at least ten (10) years of relevant experience working in the area of environment, sustainable development, or climate change related area, particularly in development banking or international development. Experience working in the Caribbean would be an asset.
The successful candidate must be willing to live and work in Barbados.
