Customer Service Representative Export - Safmarine, Antwerp, Belgium

Function description:

  • Accept and process bookings in a timely matter
  • Take responsibility and end-to-end ownership of customer shipments and issues
  • Ensure error free handling of all customer service systems
  • Engage in constructive problem resolution and provides solutions
  • Act and communicate proactively and keep customers informed of any issues or changes to the booking
  • Respond promptly to all internal and external queries
  • Build a strong and lasting relationship with customers and provide second-to-none customer service. Understand what creates value for the customer.
  • Address root cause and seek continuous improvement. Constantly look for ways to improve inefficient and erroneous processes.
  • Minimize cost by not accepting unjustified costs and invoice extra charges to responsible parties
  • Follow up on issues provided by the Vessel Reconciliation Department
  • Follow up and meet the targets set in the KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators)
  • Be able to work independently and assist the team in realizing its goals and standards – be a team player, share knowledge and best practice
  • Actively engage in sales of e-commerce (e-bookings/SI’s and Web B/L)

Our preferred candidate has/is:

  • Experience in shipping.
  • An excellent team player
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Well organized, efficient and effective
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Fluent in Dutch and English, knowledge of French is a plus (written and oral).
