Executive Director: Urban Management

Key Performance Areas:

• Lead the development and implementation of Urban Management policy and a business model for a Local Government, with on-going innovation as necessary.
• Lead the development and implementation of Urban Management operational programmes in each of the 6 Urban Management regions of the Local Government.
• Facilitate the coordination of service delivery operations in each of the 6 Urban Management regions of the Local Government.
• Provide strategic guidance and operational support to the by-law compliance programme.
• Facilitate partnerships with all relevant stakeholders that can contribute to the Urban Management agenda of the Local Government.
• The effective management of leadership in the Urban Management Department.

Core Requirements:

• Strong general management skills, preferably in an operational environment
• Good understanding of, and experience in, Urban Management Operations
• Good understanding of, and experience in, stakeholder relations management
• Experience in managing in a highly unionised environment
• A relevant degree, or NQF Level 6 Qualification, preferably with Management Orientation.
