Key performance areas include:

  • Provide input into and execute departmental strategy, technical advice, management and employee development to the Reliability-E&P section to ensure the maximum integrity and availability of the offshore FA Platform, subsea systems and associated auxiliaries for production to take place and thus enable PetroSA to achieve the strategic objectives and meet all SHEQ and regulatory requirements
  • Direct and manage the implementation of Operation’s strategy and plans within the Reliability-E&P section to enable the achievement of PetroSA strategic objectives
  • Provide technical direction and manage the maintenance of the offshore FA Platform equipment/machinery to ensure the integrity and maximum availability of the equipment/machinery for production to take place
  • Provide technical direction and co-ordination, oversee the management and the execution of projects and shut downs to ensure that goods and services are delivered on time, on budget and on scope thus contributing to the achievement of PetroSA objectives
  • Direct, monitor and report on the performance of the Reliability-E&P section to ensure that the section achieves the Operation’s divisional targets
  • Direct and monitor the development and implementation of the Reliability-E&P section’s policies, processes and procedures to ensure regulatory and legislative compliance
  • Direct and monitor that all incidents are reported, corrective actions taken and that scheduled HIRA audits are conducted within the Reliability- E&P section to ensure that the work environment is safe for operations to take place, all work is carried out in a safe manner and that injuries to staff are minimised
  • Manage and monitor the conducting of risk analysis and the maintenance and implementation of a Risk Register and Area Threat Matrix to ensure that all major risks are mitigated thus ensuring that the Reliability-E&P section is able to perform optimally and in the most cost-effective manner
  • Promote the building of a new corporate identity, grounded on the integration of diverse cultures and achievement of EE targets to ensure the transformation of PetroSA
  • Manage the establishment, implementation and monitoring of contracts with external contractors to ensure that outsourced projects are successfully delivered on time, on spec and within budget and that all the contractual requirements and obligations are achieved
  • Oversee the reviewing and updating of the Reliability-E&P section’s operating procedures documents to ensure that the most up to date procedures are available for the team to utilise
  • Manage the development of suppliers to supply services and goods to the offshore FA Platform and the preferential procurement to BEE companies to ensure service delivery and achievement of strategic corporate objectives
  • Provide input and liaise with the offshore insurance companies and implement their recommendations to achieve PetroSA objectives
  • In consultation with all relevant individuals develop, monitor and manage the budget for the Reliability-E&P section to ensure that funds are sufficiently utilised for service delivery
  • Provide technical and management advice to customers regarding requests or queries related to the operation of the Reliability-E&P section for quality customer service and visit the FA Platform and the EM Buoy to interact and build relationships with customers
  • Manage staff performance and the development of learning and growth plans, provide ongoing coaching and handle personnel related queries to ensure good performance delivery, retention and talent development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • NQF 7 or BSc degree qualification in Engineering and government certificate of competency (GCC/MH & SA)
  • 10 years’ experience in the engineering reliability services environment within the petrochemical industry and 5 years at middle management level.
