Through the expertise of professionals operating in more than 85 countries, we investigate the causes of poverty and focus on improving the physical, economic and social infrastructure that sustains communities.
We are currently seeking experienced Country Managers to be located in our already established Papua New Guinean and Indonesian Offices. Both Country managers will play a crucial role in driving business development activities with our existing client base as well as seeking new and exciting opportunities and clients. Additionally, the Country Managers will be responsible for supervising a team of dedicated international and local employees whilst overseeing operations to ensure that we continue to meet and exceed our client expectations and project management deliverables.

Key Responsibilities


  • ​A minimum of 10 years’ experience in International Development Assistance and the private sector
  • Experience in sourcing and negotiating international contracts coupled with experience in the management of international projects funded by international lending agencies and/or donors
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing teams in an overseas context in a developing country, preferably within PNG and/or Indonesia
  • Demonstrated donor-funded project management experience, demonstrating detail orientation, proactive attention to outcomes and expectations, and the ability to understand and effectively utilise financial information
  • Established networks among firms and individuals implementing AusAID, Asian Development Bank, and/or World Bank funded international development projects are regarded favourably
  • Experience writing international development proposals and reports in English
  • Well-developed interpersonal communication skill demonstrated through successful liaising, negotiating, consulting, and influencing of diverse stakeholders
  • High-level ability to prioritise, plan and organise workflow to tight timeframes, handle multiple tasks, and be flexible with changing priorities
  • Demonstrated analytical and conceptual skills to reason through problems and complex issues, anticipate barriers, and create practical solutions
  • Demonstrated attention to detail ensuring quality standards are maintained
  • Local language skills highly desirable
