Head of humanitarian programme policy, practice and advocacy


This is an exciting opportunity to lead Christian Aid’s work on developing and implementing best practice in our humanitarian programme practice and leading on humanitarian advocacy.
The post holder will lead a small team with responsibility for developing and strategically managing humanitarian programme policy and practice focusing on risk reduction relating to disasters, emergency response and recovery and the accountability of our humanitarian work. They will also lead our humanitarian advocacy work which includes championing the role of local organisations in disaster response and the challenges that they face in gaining recognition for their work. The post is based in London and will require overseas travel
You will have considerable experience working internationally and have an excellent understanding of and experience in humanitarian programme policy and broader development issues. You should have experience of staff management in complex organisations and a good understanding of the humanitarian policy environment and donor practice. You will have experience operating at a senior level.
