The ICE maintenance foreman is responsible, on a 4&3 schedule, for leading the instrumentation, controls and electrical (ICE) activities and personnel of the Leismer maintenance team. Responsibilities also include maintaining the reliability of the facilities production capabilities along with the lead maintenance foremen.

Job description

  • Forecast manpower and cost requirements and reduce maintenance costs through efficient use of the work force
  • Own and maintain the electrical QMP program
  • Manage MARP metering compliance to meet regulatory requirements
  • Responsible for ICE components of site MOC projects and work closely with engineering team
  • Coordinate timely repair and/or construction in support of maintenance activities, routine maintenance, shutdowns, preventative maintenance (PM) and capital projects
  • Plan and prioritize for future, current and backlogged jobs
  • Source required manpower and equipment
  • Assist and support maintenance, operations, planning and scheduling processes
  • Conduct reviews and make recommendations for setting up site contracts in collaboration with site purchasing personnel
  • Recognize and resolve bottlenecks within the facility
  • Measure and evaluate department performance for ICE personnel
  • Lead, supervise and direct the ICE maintenance group
  • Interface with and coordinate weekend work with the lead maintenance foremen who are on a 7&7 schedule
  • Communicate and consult with various groups at site and within the operations department about scheduled work
  • Assist and support the progress and development of the maintenance department
  • Liaise with document control personnel to ensure data from projects, work orders, and technical information (drawings, documents and register information) are received for operation modifications
  • Continuously maintain and enhance technical skills, teach and share knowledge with others
  • Manage and encourage an environment where people can work safely and lead safety meetings with the trades teams at regular intervals as set out by Statoil
  • Coverage for the lead maintenance foremen as required

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 10 years of related plant experience in instrument and electrical is required including a working knowledge of codes and specifications
  • A dual journeyman certification in instrumentation and electrical is preferred, single ticket instrumentation or electrical with relevant experience will be considered with additional supervisory experience
  • A valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Prior experience in a leadership role that required coordination of the day-to-day activities of a crew of employees or contractors is a must
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate, organise, mentor and develop personnel into an effective team
  • Proven trouble shooting, decision making and problem solving abilities
  • Willing to contribute to a team oriented and HSE focused environment
  • Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong computer skills with SAP experience is desired
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • The ability to adapt to change and to take on new duties and/or roles as required by the organisation
