Established in Botswana in 1998 as a consumer lending business, Letshego Holdings has experienced rapid growth and evolved to become a fully fledged financial services institution a presence in ten African countries including Botswana, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Namibia, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Lesotho and Mozambique. The company provides short to medium term unsecured loans to employees of the public, quasi-public, and private sectors.

Position summary:
Assume responsibility for the achievement of revenue, profitability, and balance sheet objectives through the implementation of strategy and operational control of resources
Create and enable a growth environment and lead the strategic transformation of the company across Africa
Lead the evolution of the business from consumer lending into a more diversified retail financial services organisation which is involved in deposit taking and offers a broader product range
Manage the Company’s external relationships with the public, key stakeholders, and shareholders.
Essential requirements:
Experience of working directly with external key stakeholders, e.g. Governments, Regulators, key Corporates
Knowledge of banking and the structure of balance sheets in an organisation with a balance sheet of at least US$350 million in assets and/or profitability of at least US$50 million
Understanding of company and shareholder requirements and issues
Experience in financial markets in Africa and the ability to operate across different cultures
Extensive experience of foreign regulatory environments and in-depth risk management knowledge
Proven experience of leading and managing large teams of people operating in multiple locations
In-depth knowledge of one or more functional areas within a bank (preferably Retail/Consumer).
