Member, Board of Directors - Research and Development in Kenya

Youth For International Development is a non-profit, Non-Governmental Organization that empowers the youth through NETWORKING, we are dedicated to provide a multi-sectoral approach to assist youths archive sustainable social and economic development.

YFID is seeking to recruit a Board member whose contribution among others will be;

1. Advice the board on developing policy briefs, report writing and analysis.
2. Development of Internal organizations' research strategies and policies.
3. Assist in conducting and documenting community needs assessments.
4. maintain collaborative relationships with broad arrays of stakeholders including service providers, CBOs, Faith Based org/Initiatives and other policy and research groups.
5. Provide research and administrative support for YFID projects which include advocacy for youth Development, violence prevention & intervention, best practices in youth economic development and empowerment, economic development for highest need communities and cost benefit analysis.
6. actively participate in meetings and strategy sessions with public officials, subject matter experts, youth, community leaders and non-profit leaders.

Required Skills;

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Background or vivid interest in social justice,
• public policy and Advocacy work strongly prefered
• Strong research skills Detail oriented;
• high degree of accuracy and strong analytical skills
• Preven effectiveness working as a team member
• comfort with web, social media and communication strategies desired.

Required Experiences;

1. Applicant should hold a Bachelars Degree in social work, public policy, statistics or any developement research field.
2. Master's degree in any field of research and development, strategic management, statistics or any related field is strongly preferred.
3. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a non-profit environment
