Membership Data Analyst

The Membership Data Analyst will serve in a key strategic role, working closely with team members to provide insight and improve the effectiveness of ONE's online advocacy and outreach strategies. They will delve into vast quantities of data on ONE's membership to gather requirements for improving our engagement rate, site traffic, as well as, to pull out trends, highlight strengths and address weaknesses. The Membership Data Analyst will work closely with our designers and campaigners to construct tests and evaluate data-driven outcomes; checking our assumptions and developing new strategies to more effectively connect with our membership.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and maintain consistent dashboard reports covering membership and advocacy actions, website traffic and conversions, and social network activity (primarily Facebook and Twitter).
  • Construct and execute A/B and multivariate tests to ensure optimized layouts and user flows and to test the effectiveness of new tactics and tools.
  • Develop historical view of past success and failure and continually work with the Digital team to tweak campaigns to build a stronger, more intimate relationship with our membership.
  • Analyze membership data to develop better segmentation and help structure surveys to develop a better picture of ONE’s membership, what motivates them, and how ONE can better service them.
  • Develop data entry procedures to ensure the integrity and consistency of ONE's data collection.
  • Analyze data from Google ad words and adjust ads to more effectively promote our campaigns and global web properties.
  • Use Catalist to create profiles that will help recruit new membership.

SPECIFIC TYPES OF KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years experience analyzing and reporting on membership/supporter data and web traffic data.
  • Advanced knowledge of MySQL and relational database technology
  • Extensive knowledge of CRM databases (ActionKit experience a plus)
  • Knowledge of Facebook’s Insight metrics
  • Experience constructing and executing A/B and multivariate tests on website designs and in email marketing to increase engagement and conversions.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Ad Words, Google Content Experiments and/or other testing and analytics packages
  • Ability to work closely with others on projects in a team-based environment 
  • Multi-task and manage immediate, short-term and long-term projects simultaneously
  • A history record of staying abreast of professional standards, trends and issues
  • Strong communication skills to facilitate comprehensive requirements gathering and written skills to deliver recommended solutions and documentation.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization is a must
