The total salary package for these positions ranges from approximately £33,000 – £50,483 (approx. $54,450 - $83,297 USD) including basic salary, per diem and, dependant on location, a hardship allowance and programme management allowance.
MAG saves and improves lives by reducing the devastating effects that armed violence and the remnants of conflict have on communities around the world. We are seeking applications from experienced international managers to lead our programmes, with vacancies currently available in a number of our programmes.
As a Country Director, you will be MAG's most senior representative in-country, with overall oversight and responsibility for the robust management of current projects, as well as the development of new activities. Responsibilities will include strategic business planning, ensuring compliance with local statutory regulations, contracted outputs and donor regulations; staff management and development; strategic financial management and overseeing logistical support.
This is a senior position of considerable responsibility. Applicants will therefore be need to be able to clearly demonstrate the following previous experience: • Strategic management and direction of large scale projects including, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation, risk assessment and mitigation and contract compliance; • Experience of managing finance, administrative and human resource systems to ensure project efficiency; • Strong people management experience with proven ability to lead and manage a multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, often remotely; • Proven expertise in the development of new business, including programme design and development, networking and contract negotiations; • Experience of having developed successful relationships and negotiated with donors, government bodies, other NGOs and local partners.
This is not a technical role and therefore previous experience in the mine action sector is not essential. Experienced programme and project managers from all development sectors are encouraged to apply.

• Accommodation: MAG will provide accommodation in-country
• Leave: We recognise our staff work hard and need the appropriate time out to stay motivated. You’ll have a minimum of six weeks annual leave per year. Your entitlement to annual leave also rises with service. Hardship locations also attract an additional 10 or 15 days leave
• Flights: MAG provides three international flights home per year
• Career Development: You’ll be appointed on a global open-ended contract, offering you job security, with opportunities to work in different MAG programmes should you wish to develop a long term career with us.
