Quality Officer EBN

The European Business & Innovation Centre Network (EBN) is opening a position as Quality Officer starting in December 2012, to join the Quality and Technical Assistance Team in Brussels.
The duties and tasks for this position will include, but are not restricted to:
1. Contribution to the maintenance of the EC-BIC label quality process, in particular:
  • Follow-up the quality process: questionnaire check and validation
  • Participation to the meetings of the BIC Quality Mark Committee,
  • preparation of minutes and follow-up with single cases
  • Administration (contracts and follow-up with BICs and auditors)
  • Support to the preparation of the annual evaluation program
2. Contribution to the elaboration of reports, in particular:
  • Support for the elaboration of the BIC observatories (network, country and regional levels, as well as sector-oriented researches)
  • Production of the outputs of the customized benchmarking service
  • Reports
3. Contribution to the Quality dissemination strategy
  • Organization of BIC2BIC missions
  • Dissemination and communication via newsletters, updating websites,and press releases to different organisations
  • Event/meeting organisation and follow-up
4. Support to the implementation of Technical Assistance activities:
  • Following EC (& other donors) calls for proposals/calls for tender
  • Preparation of submission of technical assistance proposal
  • General administrative tasks
Overall the role is mainly desk based (with some travel abroad) and a significant proportion of time will be dedicated to the quality process and outputs (~80%) and the rest to Technical Assistance (~20%).
Applicants are required to have the following skills:
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in private sector development;
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and French, other languages are an asset;
  • A good understanding of basic statistics and sound knowledge of Excel spreadsheets;
  • Proven organizational skills
  • Excellent communication & presentational skills;
  • Ability to multi-task and work to meet tight deadlines;
  • Very good knowledge of the Office Suite Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Intranet/Extranet & others;
  • Be a good team player and be able to think “out of the box”.
