Background / General description:
IFC, a member of the World Bank Group, is the largest global development institution focused exclusively on the private sector. We help developing countries achieve sustainable growth by financing investment, mobilizing capital in international financial markets, and providing advisory services to businesses and governments. In FY12, our investments reached an all-time high of more than $20 billion, leveraging the power of the private sector to create jobs, spark innovation, and tackle the world’s most pressing development challenges.

The role of IFC’s Human Resource and Administration Department is to support IFC to achieve its business goals through the implementation of HR policies and processes to support the attraction, retention, deployment and motivation of high performing staff. Attracting and recruiting talent is critical for IFC’s success, but has become increasingly challenging in emerging markets, where the demand for highly skilled people outstrips supply. To achieve its recruitment and diversity goals, IFC HR is seeking a Recruitment Officer focused on communications and events, including branding, international media campaigns and job fairs. The successful candidates will have the ability to develop and implement a global outreach strategy to build IFC’s brand as a preferred employer and attract high quality and diverse candidates to meet IFC’s business needs.
Duties and Accountabilities:
• In partnership with regional Recruitment Officers, design and execute IFC’s global recruitment outreach strategy focusing on specific geographic, skills and diversity targets;

• Organize IFC’s participation in relevant job fairs (physical and virtual) and ensure follow up with strong candidates;

• Identify opportunities for IFC representatives to participate in events aligned with IFC’s recruitment targets, such as conferences and seminars;

• Develop toolkit for regional on-campus recruitment and other outreach events (including corporate presentations, IFC project finance case studies, and branding materials), advise regional Recruitment Officers on outreach strategy, participate in outreach events when needed and monitor outreach activities across regions;

• Conduct briefing sessions with colleagues from the business and HR who are participating in conferences, seminars and other outreach activities on IFC’s recruitment strategy and career opportunities;

• Maintain relationships with international media agents, manage targeted recruitment media campaigns and partner with Recruitment Officers on developing ads for specific positions;

• Work closely with external relations colleagues to cost-effectively design and produce new branding material;

• Manage content for IFC’s external Careers website;

• Act as back-up for Recruitment Officers on request.
Selection Criteria:
• Master’s degree in human resources, social or behavioral science, business, or international affairs;

• At least 5 years in international human resources with a strong focus on recruitment outreach and communications;

• Demonstrated knowledge of best practice in recruitment outreach by global companies;

• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including crafting compelling messages for specific recruitment outreach purposes;

• Experience with a variety of media, including print ads, websites, presentations, webinars, social media, etc.;

• Experience working with, and monitoring results of, external service providers;

• Excellent interpersonal and multi-cultural skills to establish successful relationships with candidates and sources, as well as with internal clients;

• Pro-active approach to work and willingness to learn;

• Eagerness to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment;

• Strong commitment to working within team structures and across formal boundaries;

• Ability to build strong working relationships with counterparts across departments and the World Bank Group;
