SCA Background
The Swedish Committee for Afghanistan (SCA) is a non-profit, non-governmental humanitarian organisation working to assist in the reconstruction ofAfghanistan. SCA’s interventions insideAfghanistanbegan in 1982. Today SCA runs four major development programmes within Disability, Education, Health and Rural Development and is one of the largest NGOs in the country. SCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Scope of Work:
Manage and operate the surgery case. Visit IPD and recovery patients. Supervising and follow up nursing care of patients.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Graduated from recognised university as a Medical Doctor
- Having of MoPH specialization certificate
- At least five years experience in surgery
- Good communication skills (written & spoken) of Pashto, Dari, and basic English will be advantage
- Basic computer knowledge is an advantage
- Able to work independently and under the stressful conditions
- Be an Afghan national
Main Responsibilities:
- Manage and operate general surgery cases including CS and emergencies
- Visit the recovery ward and IPD patients
- Counsel and educate patients in relevant areas of illnesses
- Obtain specialized assistance as necessary
- Night duties (15 days/ month)
- Supervise and follow up nursing care of patients
- Provide consultation in case of needs for patients who are candidate for sugary, based on the request of other wards.
- Share knowledge, skill and expertise with medical, midwifery and nursing students and all professional staff concerning their job requirements
- Participate in research, professional organization and related committees and in continuing education opportunities
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures and objectives; continuous quality improvement initiative; safety, environmental, and infection prevention standards
- Participate in provision of 24-hour, six-day maternity service, which may require evening, night
- Supervise and monitor all maternity activities in the Hospital
- Identify and report immediately any problem which interfere in the delivery of services or in achieving the program objectives to his/her immediate supervisor
- Participate in PH weekly meetings
