TechnoServe Global HR Business Partner - Washington DC


TechnoServe, an international, non-profit economic development organization, is seeking a proactive and self-directed Global Human Resources Business Partner to join our Human Resources Department.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with LAC, Africa and India region management team to provide guidance, support and policy development relating to HR management.
Strategize with LAC, Africa, India managers and collaborate with HR team members (both US and in-country) to analyze and design HR initiatives to meet specific business objectives.
Assist in the development, implementation and measurement of strategic short and long-term goals aligned with the corporate or departmental objectives.
Investigate complaints and reports of ethics and policy violations. Provide support to employees and managers on Human Resources issues, including answering questions, researching and resolving issues, and processing related paperwork
Resolve employee relations issues and ensure proper and complete documentation for employee complaints, conflict resolution /mediation, investigations, and legal and compliance related responses
Drafts employment offers, reviews employment practices and procedures for effectiveness and compliance; may provide input and recommendations for process, or policy changes.
Able to proactively identify problems and build effective solutions.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or related field. Graduate degree in related field a plus.
SPHR, PHR, or GPHR certification preferred.
Minimum 4-7 years of Human Resources experience in positions of increasing responsibility.
Fluent Spanish is required
Must have strong influencing skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience delivering effective presentations and training material to a variety of audiences.
Must have a thorough knowledge of US employment law, regulations, and HR best practices and be able to research and learn employment law for various countries where we operation.
Strong creative problem solving skills with the ability to develop and implement practical solutions
Ability to deal with ambiguity and work collaboratively in a team environment
Experience conducting and managing corporate investigations of complex/sensitive workplace complaints related to EEO-related or sexual harassment allegations.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The incumbent is expected to sit and work at a computer for long hours.
Must be capable of talking on the phone or Skype frequently throughout the day.
Must occasionally lift a box of paper or other items which weigh approximately 20 lbs or be capable of lifting their luggage when traveling.
Other requirements include climbing stairs, walking, bending over, pulling luggage and occasionally driving.
