BOOKKEEPER
Major responsibilities: Based at Head Office and reporting to the NO Accountant, the incumbent will: • Prepare and capture daily payments, ensure all payments are captured into Sun system according to the accounts payable, posted and generated • Manage travel account, receive all travel request forms from travel bookers and capture all expenses as per the bookings on the Voucher Interface • Ensure that Diners is reconciled to the bank monthly debit order • Prepare monthly weighted average rate, ensure that the rate is accurately calculated and posted into Sun system monthly • Manage and administer cell phone account (Vodacom), ensure that all new contracts are created for the new employees as per the cell phone policy and that all the service queries are attended to by the service provider • Prepare monthly SARS VAT returns, ensure the proper e-filing of VAT monthly returns and refunds • Prepare monthly investment reconciliations and schedule, capture all interest allocated on quarterly basis on Investec and Old Mutual • Assist in loading payments to the Standard Bank online.

Minimum requirements: • At least a minimum of first degree in Accounting or studying towards becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA) • 5 years’ experience in accounting or related experience in an NGO environment • Strong computer skills in Word, Excel and Sun systems software/Visions and knowledge of Lotus notes • Fluency in English, both written and spoken • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise tasks • Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of staff and public • Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment.
