Background / General description:
The Treasury Support Team (CFATR) of the Accounting and Financial Operations (CFA) Department’s Financial Operations Unit (CFAFO) provides the back-office and accounting functions for all Treasury activities of IFC. The Team is also responsible for running IFC Collateral Management operations, processing all IFC’s cash transactions and for the monitoring and approval of the advisory fees and reimbursable expenses of the Investment Departments. CFATR also provides operational support in the development of new business initiatives and products.

This position reports to the Supervisor of the CFATR team. This is a technically specialized position that supports IFC’s Cash Settlement operations. This position will handle processing of cash movements and collateral management activities in a variety of systems, including Summit, SWIFT Alliance and several proprietary systems. This position also liaises with correspondent banks, custodial banks and swap counterparties. The position requires the ability to establish productive relationships with staff at all levels and in all units of the Corporation. The staff is also required to work across other functions of the Unit and to become a fully functional member within a short timeframe.

Note: If the selected candidate is a current Bank Group staff member with a Regular or Open-Ended appointment, s/he will retain his/her Regular or Open-Ended appointment. All others will be offered a renewable term appointment.
Duties and Accountabilities:
- Execute daily margin calls and respond to margin return notices, substitution requests, handle and process coupon and interest payments.

- Facilitate the resolution of valuation disputes between the IFC middle-office and counterparties. 

- Investigate and address general inquiries on collateral activities.

- Interface with overseas team on reconciliation activities for valuation of derivatives trades of eligible swap counterparties, providing guidance on mapping of new trades, investigating and resolving unmatched trades.

- Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of collateral holdings and resolve discrepancies between custodian and counterparties.

- Participate in the processing of cash movements for IFC products; perform period-end closing and review of unapplied transactions in the cash system.

- Prepare and process a suite of SWIFT messages in support of Cash Management transactions. 

- Keep abreast of settlement mechanics, currency rules, and clearing systems

- Participate in development, testing and implementation of new and enhanced systems and processes.

- Act as back-up in the absence of other Treasury Support Unit staff.
Selection Criteria:
- Bachelor’s degree preferably with a major in business administration, accounting or finance. 

- Minimum of 3 years of experience in related fields with a public/private financial institution (including IFC/IBRD) or the finance function of a public/private corporation. Proven track record in previous position. 

- Good knowledge of Collateral Management activities and processing experience.

- Good knowledge of treasury back office controls and reporting. 

- Good knowledge of Summit treasury system a distinct advantage.

- Knowledge of SWIFT and other settlement systems. Knowledge of IFC/IBRD systems, procedures, and documents strongly preferred.

- Ability to contribute to team performance with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Ability to manage own work, sometimes under time pressure, and produce quality results with limited supervision of the Financial Operations Officer.

- Fluency in written and spoken English required.
