Working with the Director of Communications you will lead the development of a new visual images communications strategy including stills, film and other audio-visual products that increase our public profile, inspires people to donate and helps us address the underlying causes of poverty and deliver long term change.
As part of our cross-organisational leadership team you will help drive the strategic development of our communications department, helping to align its work to our mission. This will involve ensuring film and visual output is reaching and effectively engages target audiences, developing partnerships and relationships as well as delivering innovative ways of collaborating with members of the wider ActionAid federation. You will also play a lead role on cross-functional visual communication projects in the UK. Vital will be the ability to develop a high performing team by providing leadership, direction and guidance.
You will already be an experienced television, video or broadcast professional with a number of credits to your name and proven experience of working at a senior level to develop a range of content. You will have excellent editorial judgment and creative vision and an ability of see films from the original idea through a production phase and then to delivery. You will have experience of a range of different styles of film making.
Your ability to increase audience engagement with our film and visual images will be supported by exceptional understanding of trends in digital video and photo distribution as well as channels and platforms. Critically, you will have a history of creating motivated and high performing teams and your people management skills will be complemented by the ability to get the best out of team members and supplier partners. An excellent communicator, you are comfortable taking difficult decisions, willing to challenge the status quo and keen to model new ways of working.
