internship at SIPRI

An internship at SIPRI provides young scholars with an opportunity to learn about the research work conducted at the Institute.
SIPRI offers intern positions to young scholars from throughout the world to assist researchers at the Institute in the conduct of their research programmes. Interns may also have an opportunity to conduct some of their own research work while at the Institute.
SIPRI does not have a formal programme for interns or special funding for this purpose. SIPRI can therefore not pay for housing, travel or any other expenses and does not pay interns a salary. Applicants should indicate in their applications that they can provide their own funding to cover all their costs in Sweden.
Intern positions are offered for periods of up to a few months. Positions are granted on the basis of the applicant’s academic background and university study programme as well as the relevance of the applicant’s research to SIPRI’s current research programme.

Applications should be made by e-mail and addressed to internship@sipri.org. The application should include information on the applicant’s academic background, current study programme, special research interests, the period of time he or she would like to spend at SIPRI, a complete curriculum vitae, and information on the source of funding for a stay at SIPRI.
