As some of our most senior professional leaders, our lead ombudsmen play a central part in shaping the way our organisation works – now and into the future. In a complex and fast moving landscape, we constantly face new challenges. We have to respond, adapt – and predict.
Our lead ombudsman team fulfils a huge variety of roles. Your job will include providing internal leadership on important issues within the organisation, and engaging at a high level with the most complex and high profile disputes that consumers bring to us.
With leadership responsibility for our senior ombudsmen, you’ll set the strategy for the professional leadership of our other ombudsmen. And you’ll make sure our teams are resolving the cases referred to us – fairly, accurately, consistently and efficiently.
We work closely with regulatory and industry bodies to identify issues and prevent problems in the future. So you’ll act as an advocate and champion for our service, helping to shape the best practices of the future – within our organisation and others.
We don’t have fixed ideas about where you’ve gained your experience. What matters to us is that you can demonstrate sound judgement. You’ll have to analyse complex situations, reach fair decisions – often in the face of robust challenge – and communicate sensitively. Judgement, fairness, integrity and effective communication will be needed in the full range of work you will undertake.
