National Director – WV Chile

In the role of National Director, you will lead World Vision’s operations in Chile. You will also be a significant contributor to the broader global efforts of World Vision, currently working in nearly one hundred countries, helping around 100 million people in their struggle for better lives and futures for themselves and their children.
The National Director will strategically lead, develop and direct the implementation of all aspects of World Vision Ministry including Transformational Development, Advocacy and Humanitarian & Emergency Affairs (HEA) as an effective member of the World Vision Partnership to ensure high ministry quality and high impact in the field.
We are looking for a visionary leader who can combine strong business disciplines with inspirational leadership skills in line with our Christian values and ethos. You will have a passionate desire to help others, especially children.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide Spiritual leadership and nurturing to the Senior Management Team.
  • Ensure accountability for the implementation of effective ministry to all key stakeholders. Ensure a relevant, timely and accurate flow of management and operational reports according to program objectives and meeting reporting standards of donors, partners, Regional and Partnership offices      and local partners.
  • Lead and facilitate strategies for the promotion of justice that aims at changing systems and structures.
  • Provide direction for integrating private and public funds to maximise results and respond to community needs in most effective and efficient way.
  • Ensure the office actively participates in scheduled Peer Reviews, and appropriate action planning and execution of recommendations take place.
  • Develop and implement an effective National Resource Development strategy and implementation plan to generate funds locally including all the revenue streams defined by the partnership as priority (not limited to local sponsorship funds).

SKILLS REQUIRED INCLUDE:

  • Graduate degree in Social Sciences, Administration or related fields, and/or specialisation in development related areas and/or an MBA.
  • Experience in one of the following three major Ministries: Advocacy, Development, or Relief. Familiarity with the other two.
  • Considerable managerial experience required both nationally and internationally, demonstrating proof of responsibility and accountability.
  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, donor engagement, grant acquisition and management.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish required.
  • Requires ability to work and travel extensively in country as well as internationally (approximately 20-40% of working time).
