US Programs Information Systems Intern, New York

SCOPE OF WORK:
The US Programs Information Systems Intern will help implement integrated software solutions to track and serve refugee and other clients in the US. It is a great opportunity to learn about US refugee resettlement process, tracking social service outcomes and implementing information systems, while working with a talented and fun group of colleagues.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with USP Program Officer for Information Systems, IT Project Manager, and IT Application Developer to assist with configuration, quality assurance, and troubleshooting of IRC's new refugee resettlement and program management software systems, IRIS and ETO
  • Assist with documentation of system configuration and ongoing updates to system configuration
  • Assist with the maintenance of administrative elements of the systems, including user account management, site information, and universal controlled lists
  • Work with the Software Training Specialist to assist with training materials development as changes are made to the system
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  • Intern will learn how to utilize and configure information systems for human services, particularly the Efforts to Outcomes (ETO) system, a market-leader in human services data tracking.
  • Intern will learn how to carry out effective quality assurance.
  • Intern will learn how to establish and follow protocols for information system maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Current or recently matriculated undergraduate or graduate student
  • Knowledge of or experience with social service case management or program management software, client relationship management, relational databases, or other information systems for program management.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office suite
  • Background or education in social service program management or data analysis
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions fully and precisely is essential
  • Solid organizational skills: the ability to work productively and accurately while under pressure in a fast-paced, demanding environment
  • Flexible work attitude: the ability to work in a team environment & independently and meet unexpected demands
  • Desire to learn about IRC, its programs and its staff This position reports to the Program Officer, Information Systems.
This is an unpaid internship and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. Start and end dates are flexible. This position is onsite in our New York, NY headquarters or remote.
