ABA ROLI is a non-profit program that implements legal reform programs in over 60 countries around the world. ABA ROLI has an annual budget of over $40 million and nearly 700 professional staff working abroad and in its Washington, D.C. office. ABA ROLI’s host country partners include judges, lawyers, bar associations, law schools, court administrators, legislatures, ministries of justice and a wide array of civil society organizations.
JOB SUMMARY: Recruitment & Strategic Initiatives Intern**
Interns for ABA ROLI will work with staff of their assigned division to gain an understanding of international development programs and international rule of law issues.
ABA ROLI seeks a Strategic Initiatives and Recruitment Intern to share time between ROLI Strategic Initiatives and International Support Departments. The strategic initiatives component will support ROLI efforts to enhance organizational development and expand ROLI’s reach with external stakeholders, organizations, and other ABA departments. In its recruiting capacity, the position will assist the ROLI recruiting team in expanding access to job candidate networks, building ROLI’s brand as an employer, and improving recruitment best practices and procedures. A 30 hour per week minimum (with flexible hours) is required.
Although this is an unpaid position, interns at ABA ROLI are eligible for a wide variety of perks and learning opportunities including:
· Transportation reimbursement up to $15.00/day
· Field trips to D.C. legal destinations such as the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Supreme Court, and Library of Congress
· Brown-bag lunches with ABA ROLI staff and guest speakers
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Tracking ROLI donors, alumni, and job candidates;
· Maintaining a donor/alumni & recruitment database;
· Researching new opportunities to advertise jobs and tap into new job candidate networks;
· Improving ROLI recruitment’s ability to track job candidates, facilitate administrative recruiting processes, and capture relevant application information;
· Supporting donor/alumni outreach;
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Undergrad or graduate student pursuing a degree in business administration, human resources, management, marketing, or related field
  • Excellent research, and analytical skills;
· Strong computer skills required - Microsoft Office (especially Excel), social media
· Familiarity with CRM programs, digital databases, or recruitment software a plus;
· Interest in public interest law and/or international development a plus;
