Job Summary
As the Purchasing Officer, you will be responsible for the day-to-day Procurement activities, and for assuring that these activities are carried out in alignment of the Purchasing process.
Main duties of the Purchasing Officer include (not limited to):
  • Manage and develop supplier relationhips;
  • Raise purchase orders and manage administration of related documentation;
  • Control of expediting requirements;
  • Identify and drive continuous improvements opportunities and with optimisation of the purchasing process and other internal processes;
  • Manage procurement projects;
  • Maintain vendor data, pricing and lead time in ERP system;
  • Resolve accounting queries related to purchase orders in a timely manner; and
  • Send out Requests for Quotation and evaluate quotation in line with the Sandvik requirements.
Your profile
You have a high level of experience and background in a Purchasing role. Qualifications in a related field will be advantageous. Exposure to working at a manufacturing site and knowledge of logistics/imports and general accounts are desired. We are ideally looking for someone who is analytical minded, target driven, able to work towards set deadlines and has the ability to work independently. You have a thorough understanding of ERP systems and information, and enjoy working with internal processes and reporting.
