Accounting Clerk

PRECORP was founded in 1986 to manufacture Polycrystalline Diamond (PCD) drills using their patented vein process. These drills found success drilling precision fastener holes in Carbon Fiber Reinforced Composites (CFRP). Being a special round tool company, Precorp applied the vein technology to a variety of tool types such as reamers, end mills, spot facers and countersink tools across all machining industries. In the early 2000’s, Precorp expanded its capabilities and added solid carbide special round tools to their offering. In an attempt to keep manufacturing close to the customer, Precorp has three facilities in the U.S. (Utah, Michigan and South Carolina) and one facility in Delmenhorst, Germany. In 2013, Sandvik acquired Precorp, Inc. and today Precorp, Inc. works within the Sandvik Coromant organization. This allows a global presence for Precorp products and positions Precorp to be a global leader in engineered cutting tool solutions.
Key Performance Areas
As the Accounting Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a range of general clerical, accounting, and bookkeeping support functions related primarily to the efficient maintenance and process of accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions. This role will cover all Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable responsibilities within the Utah facility.
The Accounting Clerk will be expected to recommend actions to resolve discrepancies and is encouraged to challenge the status quo and develop new solutions. You will also have intercompany responsibilities, and will require communication between various departments within the company to resolve intercompany discrepancies.
Requirements of this position also include, but are not limited to:
  • Verify the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
  • Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable)
  • Enter data into computer system using defined computer programs
  • Compile data and prepare a variety of reports
  • Assist in monthly, quarterly and year-end close
  • Reconcile records with external vendors and customers, or internal company employees and management
  • Investigate questionable data
  • Perform filing, scanning, and general administrative tasks
  • Liaise with other departments / customers / vendors
Your profile
In addition to at least 3 years of general account experience, you are extremely detail-oriented, and work well under pressure. You must be flexible and be able to multitask, and take direction well. You are a team player and possess a “can do” attitude. You are willing to think outside the box and challenge the status quo in order to achieve success. Your verbal and written communication skills are excellent. An Associate’s Degree is preferred, but not required.
Additionally the Accounting Clerk will be:
  • Comfortable using computer-based accounting systems, JobBOSS knowledge a plus
  • Familiar with ERP systems and the Microsoft Office suite
