Abcam is a rapidly growing business, specialising in the production and sale of antibodies and related products. We are a web-based business, with offices in Cambridge, UK; Cambridge, MA; San Francisco, CA; Tokyo, Japan and Hong Kong.

As a Business Development Manager, you will lead a team who play an essential role in bringing new biological products to the scientific research market. The role requires a strong biological background in order to identify and assess potential new products to add to our extensive catalogue.

You will use effective communication skills to develop successful working relationships with external suppliers and internal stakeholders in order to launch new product lines in a smooth and efficient manner. You will be responsible for negotiating commercial terms with external parties in order to achieve the best deals available.

The ideal candidate will be proactive, highly organised and flexible, with excellent influencing skills and a strong drive to achieve results. A life sciences degree is essential, and a working knowledge of biological research reagents would be an asset. You will have at least 3 years experience of negotiating deals or managing projects, and leading teams/managing people in a commercial environment.
